Our client’s request was to turn a severely sloping part
of their garden from an area overrun with grass and weeds into:
• a children’s play area;
• sitting areas to enjoy the views; and
• with paths and steps to access the pool and lower garden.
What PFL provided:
• a plan that was accepted;
• a quote that met budget considerations;
• the expertise and skills to undertake that project, including:
- manage the site and maintain safety standards (young children);
- supervise and direct machinery operations;
- extend the existing automatic irrigation system;
- direct stormwater from the garden down the hill;
- dry stone retaining wall construction using hand selected rock;
- garden/turf edging;
- granite paths, concrete and tiled steps;
- sand pit and kids playground construction;
- laying out turf grass;
- garden bed preparation;
- supply and planting out of garden plants
• regular meetings with our clients to provide progress reports
and give assurance as their yard was torn up.
The outcome:
• a garden that met all the client’s needs, is used and enjoyed by
the family and has added value to the family’s asset;
• we’ve been back three times since to design and construct other areas
of the garden;
• perhaps nicest of all, we made some friends;
• PFL new sponsor of Henwood Park Soccer Club under 7's.
